My friend, David, and I used to come up from our homes in Kent and spend time at the 2i's. One act I remember was Wally Whyton of the Vipers Skiffle group, who went on to TV fame with Ollie Beak and Pussycat Willum! We also frequented the "Heaven & Hell" coffee bar and listened to smooth jazz at "The Flamingo" where Ronnie Scott, Tubby Hayes, Tony Kinsey, Bill LeSage used to play. This was before Ronnie opened his own club.

Used to go to Heaven and Hell every Sunday with my friends , we used to spend a lot of time in Soho, and I bumped into a friend of mine one day and he said he was playing in the 2 i"s his name was Jet Harris and he was one of the original Shadows that played with Cliff Richard. Also used to go to Cy Lauries Jazz club which was under the Windmill Theater...
