1948 London Summer Olympic Games - Participation Medals 1948

Participation Medals for the competitors at the 1948 London Summer Olympic Games. Made from oxydiced silver instead of gold, 51,0 mm in diameter and weighing 61 gr. Design by B. Mackennal and J. Pinches. The Obverse shows a City view of London over legend in three lines with the Olympic rings below. The reverse depicts a symbolic Grecian chariot. 4,062 competitors will take part in the Olympics.

I was coached by former 1948 Olympic Discus Thrower Ernest Jack Brewer. He dedicated his spare time to coach many students in all aspects of Athletics.
