Originally the Amman Valley County School established in the old laundry behind Llandebie Road in 1914. First minutes of Old Pupils' Association dated 1921. Transferred to the old school buildings in Margaret Street 1928. Changed to Grammar School about 1944/5. Changed to Comprehensive School with dreadful looking new buildings added alongside 1969. OPA active until 1969 when then President rumoured to have prevented more meetings due to possible effect on new staff. Restarted 1998 despite considerable opposition and wrongly authorised transfer of bank funds to Comprehensive School. Funds successfully reclaimed from Bank and replaced in the Association's new account, not in the same Bank!
