Scoil Bhride is situated on the Curragh, Co Kildare and is served by the Athgarvan area. It is names after then patron saint of Kildare, St. Brigid. Scoil Bhride was founded in 1884 and was sited where the present Montessori school is now. The present school was built in 1964 with only 3 classrooms and a small office but has since been extended. Presently 280 pupils are enrolled, 142 boys, and 138 girls. There are 11 teachers, 1 secretary, 1 classroom assistant and 2 caretakers. The school is involved in many sporting activities, Basketball, Gaelic football, U/11, Cross county teams. Pupil competed at local and national level in art competitions. Scoil Bhride are regular prize winners. We have a gardening club twice E.S.B. Environmental Awareness Awards at county level and Gulbenkian Good Citizenship Award. Also a chess club and French classes. The school orchestra and choir participate in the National Childrens Choir and Cor Fheile Bride. For many years Scoil Bhride Choir has competed at Feis Ceoil. Amony the awards to Scoil Bhride Choir were the junior Unison choirs cup, The McCullagh Pigott Cup and The Bewerunge Cup.
