Pembroke School is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school of approximately 1508 pupils with a sixth form of about 192. The school was formed in 1972 as a result of the amalgamation of the former grammar and secondary modern schools. It is housed on one site and its setting is undoubtedly unique in Wales. All the school buildings are contained within the boundaries of a former private estate of nearly 100 acres with views over the lawn to Pembroke Castle. The school has many excellent facilities in its departments.. There is a very fine sports complex on the campus consisting of two swimming pools, a large sports hall, two squash courts and a fitness room.
