Colaiste Chiarain, opened in September 1980 to provide sec level education, for the growing population of young people in Leixlip, and the surrounding area. It is a co-educational multi-denominational community school dedicated to the ideals of a Christian Education. It aims to cater for the personal, moral, social, cultural and academic education of each student. Colaiste Chiarain offers a rich and diverse curriculum which: Promotes the highest standards of learning and achievements for students of all level of ability Promotes a sports and cultural programme for all students. Provides learning opportunities for the local community through its community education programme. The Memorial Garden was erected in the centre of the school to commemorate all of the past pupils of the school who have past away over the years. Many of the students from the first 10 year will remember Mr. Sean McCann with whom I have had the pleasure to meet on numerous occasions in my professional life. Other teacher and pupil memories are welcome. This is a positive group about reuniting past pupils, please do not post or express negative views or opinions. Colaiste Chiarain's Memorial Garden - The garden was officially open on Monday, 23rd of November 1998, by President Mary McAleese The jets of water symbolise the dynamism or spirits of deceased and the boulders represent their bodies at rest in the ground.
