Founded in 1669 by King Charles II by Royal Charter. Firstly in Queen Street Dublin. Moved to Blackhall Place in 1700's. Moved to current campus at Palmerstown in west Dublin in 1971. Merged with Mercer's Girls School of Rathcoole in 1960. Currently 1000 pupils of which 500 are day pupils. Brand new boarding accomodation available from summer 2002.
