Perhaps the most famous pupil at Kings Norton was Harold Roxbee Cox, later to become Lord Kings Norton. Sir Harold went to the Austin Motor Company, who at that time were making their own aircraft, and worked on the early airships with Neville Shute (Author). He was a leading force in the development of the Gas Turbine or Jet Engine working closely with Sir Frank Whittle on behalf of the Government. There was a Harold Roxbee Cox book prize in the 1950's.
