The Ulster Polytechnic was the first Institute of Higher Education in the UK to accept a hospital based school of Physiotherapy into it's establishment in 1972. Under extreme resistance it proposed, and had approved by CNAA, the first degree course for physiotherapists in the UK in 1976. Glasgow and then London followed their initiative.
