All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth by Spike Jones 1946

Spike Jones was originally a teacher, and he picked up on the theme of the song when he asked his young students what they'd like for Christmas, and noticed that many of them were missing at least one front tooth. He wrote the song in a snappy 30mins and performed it at a music teachers conference as a comedy turn. A Wittmark music employee was in the audience, heard it, loved it and released it. Even as late as 1995 Spike could still be found puzzling over what had happened to him admitting, "I was amazed at the way that silly little song was picked up by the whole country." So are we Spike, so are we.
