Blind Land Speed/Ken Moss 1999

Blinded former policeman Ken Moss in his MG EX-F Speed car during his attempt to break the sole blind world land speed record at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire. He set an unofficial world record when he reached 118mph driving solo. *Mr Moss, 41, of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, was guided by a sophisticated inertial navigation system which makes sounds in his left or right ear telling him which way to turn the car.
