sweets sold in paper bags, 4 oz a time measured on avery scales by the shopkeeper, acid drops one of my favourites,smiths crisps with the little blue bag of salt inside, and if you were 10 year old smoker he had no problem selling you cigarette or two.( i,m not referring to this shopkeeper ). walnut whips were nice, do they still make them?.

Walnut whips are still made and sold, how about the Aztec bar, recently re introduced but didn`t stay for long,shame, one of my favorites, In the 60s/70s use to buy a little packet of sugar strands , the packet was coloured red and resembled a packet of soap but I can`t remember it`s name!

Remember Sherbet Dips, My brother and I used to empty the packet into our mouths and see how long we could stand the inevitable expansion of the sherbet before we stopped breathing.
