I lived in Bath and had roller skates for Christmas! iT STARTED SNOWING ON THE BOXING DAY AND DID NOT GO UNTIL MARCH.
Still went to school tho and it was Oldfield right on the outskirts of Bath. and nothing closed because of the weather. Oh Happy Days!!!

We lived in Cove ,Farborough and this was the year that it froze so hard and when the milk was delivered , The hard frost made the cream of the milk push out like a" banana ice cream" Kids today would have loved it even so it was very very cold.

A water Tower at Shoeburyness, the year I started work, leaked and had huge icicles hanging from it. It looked wonderful. Haven't seen anything like it since.
