Broadway, the Village 1899

Broadway is mentioned in the Domesday Book. It was owned by the Benedictine abbey of nearby Pershore until the Dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII. Notice the oil lamp standard in the foreground of this late Victorian photograph.
