I was only 3 when this election took place but like many people, I regard Churchill as perhaps the most outstanding British leader of ail time. Of course he was a rogue, moody & childish at times& made some costly mistakes but his stirring speeches & fearless example - ,he wanted to be in the thick of the action - kept this country alive during the most tumultuous time in its history.I can only remember seeing him on TV etc as an ailing man but felt immense respect at his death & funeral..
