There were 2 sites, one in Weymouth (mainly teacher training [and Media, and Archaeology - both of which transferred to the 'Bournemouth' campus] and the other in Bournemouth (misleadingly actually in the next-door historic town of Poole. In the mid 80's the Weymouth site closed. About 1990, DIHE became Bournemouth Polytechnic and shortly after (about 2 years approx) became Bournemouth University
