Five versions of the BBC TV timelord 'Dr Who' L-R: Richard Hurndall (who plays the late William Hartnell, the first Doctor); Peter Davidson (seated on robot dog K-9); a waxwork model of Tom Baker; John Pertwee, and Patrick Troughton. * They are all to feature in a 20th anniversary film 'The Five Doctors'. 19/05/2002 : Undated Library filers of Doctor Who actors (L-R) William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and John Pertwee. Blue Plaques were unveiled to the three actors at BBC Television Centre in London 27/12/02 : Doctor Who, whose screen exploits prompted a generation to hide behind their sofas in terror every Saturday, has been named the greatest science fiction character of all time. The Time Lord, played by a range of actors during the show s three decades on screen was voted top by TV and movie buffs.
