Dunblane Media/ Kate Adie 1989

Top BBC reporter Kate Adie whose style of reporting in the aftermath of the Dunblane shooting was criticised by Colin Cameron, Head of BBC Scotland. Stressing that his comments were not directed to her journalism skills, he said at the Edinburgh TV Festival that "the forensic precision of her delivery was not appropriate to the moment". File photo dated 19/6/89, of BBC reporter Kate Adie. Downing Street has complained to BBC director general Greg Dyke after Adie speculated on TV about Prime Minister Tony Blair's travel arrangements. Downing Street has asked news organisations to refrain from speculation about Mr Blair's movements for security reasons. It is understood a letter of complaint was sent to Mr Dyke from Alastair Campbell, Downing Street's director of communications and strategy. The BBC had no immediate comment.
