I remember it WAY before the endless rows of vinyls. Parked my sunbeam talbot right out side in the 1950s - no yellow lines or parking regulations, and they had real knowledgeable stff BEHIND the counters where all the records were available with expert opinion and help. Spent several hours in upstairs private listening booths witha stack of classical records. Now its pick-it-yourself from mostly rubbish (c)rap music.
