Footy Dice? 1950

Remembered more than a year ago

I'm not sure of the year but I saw the same sort of thing called 'Owzat' for cricket dated as 1950's. These, I think, were for a Football game. I vaguely remember a plastic pitch and possibly some counters contained in a tube. Any body else remember anything about this type of game?

SHOOT LEAGUE LADDERS AND DICE FOOTBALL-
WE HAD A FRIENDS GARAGE BACK WHEN WE WERE CHILDREN AND USING THE FAMOUS SHOOT LEAGUE LADDERS WHICH WERE COLLLECTED OVER A NUMBER OF WEEKS PRIOR TO THE START OF EACH FOOTY SEASON AND BY THE ADDITION OF A DICE TO CREATE A FOOTBALL SCORE GREAT ENJOYMENT WAS MADE WITH EACH PERSON HAVING A LEAGUE TO MANAGE.IT SEEMS MAD NOW BUT IT WAS QUITE ENJOYABLE

Peter, thanks for sharing your memories, the thing that I had these 'dice' for was Pokkit Socca. The game came in a small tube with a scrunched up pitch and counters for the ball.
Will try to add pix
Another memory of mine was shuv 'apeny of any window ledge in school at break time, when raining, using old (not then though:) penny's for players and a halfpenny for the ball. Shuvs to the 'player' only to be made with a comb. Took some skill :)

may i add as well the shoot league ladders and dice football had some unbelivable league placings-Arsernal languised in the lowest league and Hartlepool and Bury use to fight it out for the championship and in the 180 or so seasons I did we did this Leeds were never religated from the top league-coincidentaly each season lasted ten games,
the shuv a penny thing sounds a nice memory.ah live was fun back then with games we made up on our own mate

There was a plastic cricket game similar to this and a two dice football game I bought on a trip to Hamleys and played for many an hour at school.(Geography lessons especially). The dice had Rubstuds as a sponsor maybe and had green lettering on the first die and if you threw "Penalty" or "Shoot with Rubstuds" then the red lettered die was thrown. Great game, and I still have it and play it although I've had the dise since about 1964/65
