I use to love them..

I've got a whole jar of them..

I was scared of swallowing them after my friends mum gave
gave me a large pear drop..I swallowed it but she saw me choking on it and banged me in the back so hard that it came up, thank God!

There used to be a real aniseed in the middle.

We used to buy aniseed shot, tiny little balls that we would throw up in the air and catch in our mouths! I guess they were all over the classroom floor. (1950's just after rationing ended)

I had forgotten about these.I can almost remember the taste and smell of
these lovely sweets from my childhood in the fifties.

they were lovely sweets i had forgotten them we used to see how small we could suck them before we bit them they were small to start with

I still love these sweets

I loved them and you can still get them today

Had to put a few in at a time and jumble them around !
