It is understood that the 50-year-old gay comic will be paid in the region of 500,000 for the book, which was commissioned in September 2000 and will be called Running Away From Myself. The book, which is said to be already available on pre-order on the Internet, promises to be a candid expose of the Strike It Lucky and My Kind of Music host's personal life and career in showbusiness. The Conservatives called for the BBC to shelve plans to publish the book. 14/01/03 : Detectives are to launch a new investigation into the death of a man found in a swimming pool at the home of television entertainer Michael Barrymore.
