I used to go there when I was quite small with my mum and sister. I remember Gerald Iles, the Zoo Keeper, who allowed my sister to hold a baby lion cub. I also remember the elephant rides and going to Kings Hall for Brass Band Concerts with my mum and dad.

My husband and I discovered that we were both introduced to classical music at a school's concert in the Kings Hall. Ravel's 'Bolero' made a big impact on us both. It was years later that we realised we were at the same concert.
