YAHOO!
SCOOLFRIENDS TAKES SINGAPORE BY STORM
Just over a year after its launch, Yahoo! Schoolfriends, Singapore, is now the country's largest website with over 30,000 registered users and is soon to be merged with Friends Reunited, the UK website phenomenon that reunites old friends with an international database of 12 million people.
Yahoo! Schoolfriends was launched in June 2003 and is the foremost portal to find lost friends, relatives, workmates and team-mates. It is for anyone who ever wondered what became of the school bully, or their childhood crush. The site lists over a thousand schools, universities and colleges, and nearly 2000 workplaces. Members can send messages, swap class photos and exchange memories on message boards.
Here's what a few happy users have had to say:
"Thanks for coming up with this brilliant idea of old friend searching. I managed to be found by one of my classmates after losing touch for 12 years. Keep up the good work!"
"I found a long-lost school friend who I hadn't heard from in 10 years! I highly recommend people from all over do not give up. Patience and miracles do happen. Thanks a lot Yahoo! Schoolfriends!"
In a matter of minutes of logging onto Yahoo! Schoolfriends, members have been able to relive the best years of their life.
Notes:
- It is free to register and search for friends on the site, with an annual fee of just $19.95 to make contact with other members
- Users can connect directly to Yahoo! Schoolfriends: Singapore Edition by going to: http://yahoo.schoolfriends.com.sg
