the Alumni Assoc FOCUS (Friends of Coventry University). The Alumni Co-ordinator is Pauline Greene. The site and higher education part of Rugby College of Technology and Arts became Rugby College of Engineering Technology in about 1958. The college was set up as a University College to run 5 year student apprenticeships in conjunction with local industry for the award of Engineering diplomas and London University Degrees. The halls of residence were built about this time. The Student Union bar was opened about 1960. The High Voltage lab was built about 1962. Stuart Hales (1957-63) has a list of all students in 1960. Les Landon (1959-64) has done some Alumni work. The college eventually became part of Lanchester Polytechnic and later reverted to Local Authority control.
