Sale/Hencrix poster 1997

The artwork for a Jimi Hendrix concert poster at the Filmore Auditorium, San Francisco, in 1968, sold for 18,400 at Bonhams in London today (Tuesday). It was the top price in a sale of artwork and vintage posters from the 1960s. It featured the famous "flying eyeball" design by Rick Griffin, one of five artists who developed the psychedelic poster form in San Francisco during the flower power era. See PA Story SALE Hendrix.
