Merged with the secondary modern school in Saltash to form the new Secondary Community School. One of the first in the country to do this under the comprehensive scheme. Brought a good education to many who did not pass the 11+ examination. Despite fierce opposition from local vested interests, Dr Ralph Crowe did a magnificent job managing the transition from an almost exclusive club to an opportunity for all.
