Soccer - FA Cup Final - Sunderland v Leeds United1973
Sunderland manager Bob Stokoe (top) celebrates with the FA Cup after his team's shock 1-0 victory, as he is carried on the shoulders of coach Arthur Cox
This was the first cup-final I saw in colour on a friend's tv. Brought up in deepest Surrey, my Dad took me to Portsmouth in '58 to see Pompey v Sunderland - That day I became a SAFC supporter & my first game saw them relegated for the 1st time in their history.....! Followed them for 15 years & the first time I saw them win (!)was the cup replay at Elm Park, Reading - they went on to Wembley to that unforgettable day. I found out about 20 yrs later that my sister was at the final !
