I first took an interest in football in the John Charles era and have a number of recollections about him and his team mates. As a youngster I could boast to my envious mates a connection with John Charles as he brought some nylons back from Italy for my sister! Actually the nylons were intended for his wife but were the wrong size so his wife gave them to my sister - they were in the same maternity home at the time. I'm not sure I always remembered to tell that bit of the story though!!
