und 1980 - just remember him walking around looking like a bat with his black cape on!! Sorry but the headmaster was Mr Cockburn until 1976,a very intimidating man in his mortar board and gown. Then came Mr Frenchum who must have spent hours every day trimming his beard into shape. I heard he committed suicide a few years ago following the death of his wife. (updated by Jane Douglas) Anybody remember Mr Newton (Isaac) the physics teacher and Mr Egglestone (Edge) the mad biology teacher. Or even Smelly the metalwork teacher (around 78 to 80) How about Mr Rome, mad (but very clever) maths teacher. His goal was to make it to Vegas, and win a million on a guarenteed betting method on the wheels. I was never sure if he was serious about this. And Ya, HUDSON WAS THE DEVIL REINCARNATED
