Boy George and his band Culture Club with Michael Jackson's sister Latoya. The band won Best British Group and Best Selling Single for 'Karma Chameleon'. Latoya was there to collect the award for Best Selling Album for her brother for 'Thriller'. True, the '80s was responsible for some decent music, but on the whole the decade is known for shallow pop and an overuse of the synthesizer. And don't even get us started on the clothing...
Time. brill record and the album colour by numbers. wow the memory's just keep on coming back lol

Newly 40, unemployed (1st time in 14 years), divorced, I was perplexed by my teenage daughters' tastes, but liked 'Do you really want to hurt me?' a lot; though, again, puzzled by its masochistic theme and 'Boy George's' (is he a girl?) androgynous style. Also liked 'Spandau Ballet's' (??!!) 'True', while sensing an odd 'distancing' about their (and others') singing. Not a time to be middle-aged. And with Thatcher's Tories, to boot.
