The Uluburan Shipwreck 1982

The Uluburan Shipwreck was discovered off the coast of Turkey in 1982 by a local sponge diver. For years afterwards archaeologists made dives down to the wreck and recovered great numbers of artefacts scattered down the steep slope of the sea bed. The wreck was dated to the bronze age, and found to be a trade ship most likely headed for the Aegean trade port of Rhodes.
