Currently a judge on BBC1 show The Voice. Ironic, given that the Welsh warbler has been known as 'The Voice' for decades! But is he the greatest? He's certainly instantly recognisable, and we think that if he's not the best then he's certainly up there challenging for the crown!
I remember the stir Tom Jones caused when he first auditioned for a talent competition (the name of which escapes me presently) and won.

Saw Tom first time at London Palladium, had seats right near him and i also got engaged at that concert 1967 brilliant have seen him twice since, still got powerfull voice and the thrust lol.

Was in the same class as Tom in Wood Rd School,Treforest, our Mothers were pregnant at the same time and friends. I am 6 weeks older than him. Last time I saw him to speak to was about 1965.

So nostalgic for me as I was in the audience, (few rows from the front) at Elstree Studios where this was recorded in 1968. Can remember how excited we all were on the return coach journey. all members of his fan club. I still have the photographs taken with him on my instamatic camera. So many happy memories of those trips and the start of a friendship with another lady that lasted 30 years.
