Britain's newest express train, 'The Caledonian', thunders through Watford on the long haul of some 400 miles to Glasgow on her inaugural run northbound. The train is scheduled to cover the 401 miles trip from Euston station, London, to Glasgow in 400 minutes and an average of more than 60 miles an hour. On the reverse run from Glasgow to London 'The Caledonian' set up a new post-war record for the trip. The southbound express covered the trip in 398 minutes.
