I was a pupil 1963-69 before the fire when it was a Comprehensive School. 1000 pupils at the time. Mr Postlethwaite was he head then. Pompous "KEEP TO THE RIGHT!" ex military. Miss Sarson deputy head of girls and Mr Marshall deputy head of the boys. Doesn't look like the playing field still exists? If Mr Smith fell over anyone's bag during class, he used to open the window and sling it out onto the field and you'd need a pass to retrieve it! Not a bad school in my time.
