Westerham, the Village 1925

It is a quiet morning in this pleasant small town, situated on a gentle hill a few miles west of Sevenoaks. General Wolfe spent his childhood in Quebec House and is said to have passed his last night in his beloved town at the George and Dragon, shown here in the foreground. The Westminster Bank (third building in from either side of the picture) seems busy enough, judging by the cars parked outside.
